Native Plants, Natural Pruning & A Neighborhood Gem – Resources for Broadview Gardeners
Did you know that the Washington Native Plant Society conducts guided tours of native plants in Carkeek Park? That they offer monthly presentations, and plant sales? That you can learn about gardening with natives that offer low maintenance, drought tolerance, and food for birds and wildlife?
Did you know that there’s an organization in north Seattle dedicated to teaching proper pruning and maintenance of trees and shrubs (Plant Amnesty), and that they offer workshops and other resources for pruning and landscape renovation?
And did you know that there’s a hidden gem of an historic garden in our very own neighborhood? That it was designed in 1916 by the renowned landscape architects the Olmsted Brothers, and that you can tour Dunn Gardens between April and October each year?
The Broadview Garden Club invites you to kick off the gardening season with a presentation from leaders in each of these three organizations, who will show and tell about the diverse resources they offer. Come get your questions answered….and take home terrific handouts that tell you more!
