Concern About Project Impact on Salmon

Members of the Carkeek Watershed Community Action project have expressed concern about the impact of Seattle Public Utilities’ NW 120th St. Project on salmon in the streams in Carkeek Park.  Below is a message from  one of the members.

Hello Carkeek Park neighbors,

I am writing on behalf of Carkeek Watershed Community Action Project (CWCAP) and coordinate the imprinting and release of 70-100,000 salmon fry each Spring into Venema Creek.  The imprinting and release takes place about 20 feet from where Mohlendorph Creek joins Venema some 450 ft downstream from the proposed Outfall drainage pipe at the end of NW 120th Street.

Please visit carkeekwatershed.org/mohlendorph-creek where CWCAP documents its involvement with this Outfall and Drainage Project.

It’s my intention to provide open source information that depicts real outcomes of this project and the misleading premises from which it was permitted.
