Seattle Public Schools Closure Options

Seattle Public Schools announced two potential plans to close some schools (Option A and Option B). Here is a link to their website about this. It includes information about the proposals, the budget challenges the School District is facing, and opportunities for public input.

Adequate state funding for public education remains a challenge for our state. At the City level, we have been able to provide supplemental funding through the Families and Education levy, which is up for renewal next year. As a member of the Libraries, Education and Neighborhoods Committee I will work hard to bring forward a renewal proposal in 2025.
